City Of College Station Responds To Multiple Inquiries Of City Parks That Need To Be Mowed
The city of College Station is asking residents to not mow city property. The city’s response also explained record breaking rainfall has delayed mowing in many parks. The city’s social media says the city’s mowing contractors and parks and recreation staff are working as quickly and efficiently as possible to get back to a regular mowing schedule.

Bryan ISD School Board Members Are Told Why They Have To Spend Excess Money In The District’s School Meal Fund
The Bryan school district makes enough money from school meals that the state requires spending some of the excess. That led the BISD school board at this week’s meeting to replace equipment. The board approved assistant superintendent Kevin Beesaw’s recommendation to spend $146,000 dollars to replace equipment. BISD’s new school nutrition director, Sandra Baxter, who was promoted following the retirement of Sundy Fryrear, explained the purpose of what are called pass-through units. Baxter said school cafeterias use pass-through units to keep prepared food at their proper temperature until it is served. The purchases replace equipment at Jones elementary and at Bryan High.
