For the fourth time, Brazos County commissioners amend the contract to design remodeling and repairs at the administration building.
Adding about $255,000 dollars to the design contract brings the total design cost to $1.6 million dollars. That is nearly double the original design contract of $867,000 dollars.
The commission’s project director, Trevor Lansdown, says repairing the building “envelope”, the area between interior walls and the exterior brick, has nearly doubled the entire project cost to an estimated $17 million dollars.
The original design for renovating the county’s administration building included creating more office space by doing among other things, adding a second floor to the former church sanctuary.
