Bryan school board members at this week’s meeting unanimously approved renovation designs at the Bryan Collegiate, M.C. Harris, and Hammond-Oliver Annex campuses.
These are the last locations to receive improvements funded by the voter approved bond issue in November 2014.
The project includes the removal of all portable buildings from the Collegiate campus by moving special education to the current administration building and the DAEP…or discipline alternative education program…from Collegiate to the Hammond-Oliver building at Kent and Memorial.
Construction manager Jeff Windsor says once the portable buildings are removed, the perimeter of the Collegiate campus will receive ornamental fencing that will also serve as a security measure.
Both locations will also have increased building security and a reconfiguration of classroom space.
Windsor says all three projects will be bid as one package. His intent is to have the board consider awarding a construction contract in May so that work can be done this summer.
