An update on operations at Easterwood Airport was presented to the Bryan city council this month.

Airport manager Josh Abramson says their goal is keeping service with two of the nation’s four major airlines.
Airport manager Josh Abramson reminded the council American Airlines service to and from DFW connects passengers to 229 destinations via 28 airlines, and United Airlines service to and from Bush Intercontinental in Houston connects passengers to 178 destinations via 27 airlines.
Abramson says 28 percent of local passengers currently fly out of Easterwood. To increase that share, they are developing a loyalty program that will assist passengers who get caught in delays and/or cancellations.
Abramson also told the council Delta turned down a $1 million dollar guarantee after the airline did not have success in Killeen.
Abramson says he gets asked about recruiting Southwest or have service to Austin, he says neither are going to happen.
The manager says the biggest challenge is overcoming a pilot shortage.
And the biggest project coming to Easterwood following major improvements at McKenzie Terminal and a new fixed base operation serving private and military pilots, is a full length taxiway.
