Two Weekend Arrests On Charges Of Intoxication Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury

Two local people arrested during the weekend on charges of intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury are out of jail after posting bond.

43 year old Heather Alderete of College Station is accused of operating a jet ski while under the influence when it overturned…resulting in a passenger receiving four broken ribs. According to the arrest report from Texas Parks and Wildlife, Alderete said she had not been on a jet ski before and she was speeding when they hit bumps and flew into the water. Alderete refused medical treatment before she was taken to the Brazos County jail.

And 27 year old Joel Olvera Senior of Bryan is accused of being under the influence when he lost control of his car and struck a light pole Olvera and three passengers were all taken to the hospital. The most seriously hurt was a passenger who received a head injury and a broken arm. Another passenger told Bryan police…according to the arrest report…that the car spun multiple times before hitting the light pole in the area of Osborn and Braeswood.
