Officials Needed for Middle and High School Football Season

The Texas Association of Sports Officials is looking for people interested in officiating middle and high school football this fall.

Rick Littleton of the College Station chapter says people of all ages are welcome and no experience is required.

“Once you get in here, we will train you up, no experience needed. We will give you everything you need, you just need to buy the uniform and pay the dues,” says Littleton.

Littleton says the official shortage is common across the country.

“We need people. There is a shortage of officials through all sports throughout the United States. We are losing more than we are gaining each year,” says Littleton.

The College Station Chapter officiates private and public school games throughout the Brazos Valley.

They are hosting an informational meeting on Monday, July 29 at Bryan High School. Click here for more information.
