H1N1 Confirmed in Brazos County

Health Department officials showed little surprise when the H1N1 was officially confirmed in Brazos County Tuesday.

There have been 294 confirmed cases of the so called “swine flu” so far in Texas, and officials said it was just a matter of time until we got our first case here.

No details are being released regarding the person who has been confirmed to have carried the virus.

The Health Department says in a press release they “continue to follow any H1N1 virus recommendations made by the Texas Department of State Health Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”

The public is being reminded to keep using measures to avoid the flu such as staying home when you are sick, coughing or sneezing into the bend of your elbow or a tissue and washing hands often.
