Greens Prairie Trail Widening Project Starts This Week

As early as this week, begins another major street widening project in College Station.

The city council and school board at their last meetings approved separate contracts making Greens Prairie Trail a four lane between Wellborn and Royder Roads.

Public Works director Donald Harmon told the council the construction is timed with the completion of the new Pecan Trail Intermediate School.

CSISD’s facilities director, Jon Hall, told the school board the district is paying $435,000 of the $5,395,000 dollar project. That’s due to the additional traffic generated by the new school.

When construction begins, there will be a work zone speed limit of 25 miles per hour. Weather permitting, completion is expected next July.
