For the first time since 1991, improvements are coming to the kitchen at the Brazos County jail.
County commissioners this week approved without discussion, a $115,000 dollar design contract where commissioners chose not to seek bids.
The goal for jail administrator Wayne Dicky is to have a well designed kitchen that can be operated efficiently.
According to the architect’s cover letter, a final design will be ready by the end of this year, and construction will take six to nine months.
