Each year, the College Station school board receives enrollment information to study whether to make any changes in order to balance campus populations based on number and/or the percentage of low income students based on free and reduced meals.
At Tuesday’s meeting, the board agreed with the administration’s recommendation to study whether to move elementary school programs to balance campus populations.
That’s after four elementary campuses are under 85 percent capacity. They are River Bend, Creek View, Greens Prairie, and Pebble Creek.
Meantime, College Hills is within three students of 110 percent capacity.
As for CSISD’s two main high schools, Consolidated is at 78 percent capacity, while College Station high school is at 106 percent capacity.
Superintendent Clark Ealy says campus populations at CSISD intermediate and middle schools…now and in the near future…are projected to be within building capacity.
