College Station Council Will Revisit The Name Of The City’s New Community Center

The College Station city council will be revisiting the name of the new community center.

During the council’s last meeting, mayor Karl Mooney said he received “considerable expressions of concern” about leaving out a reference to seniors in what has been the Arts Council building.

The mayor received support from four other members to place the item on the agenda for the council’s first meeting in May.

On March 22, the council voted 5-2 to leave out the word “senior” in the name of the community center. The word “senior” was endorsed by College Station’s senior and parks and recreation advisory committees.
