A sliver of land in Northgate at University and Wellborn that was state right of way is now in private hands.

During the College Station city council meeting on January 27, there was unanimous approval to allow the private owner to develop the former abandoned right of way.

That followed a recommendation from the planning and zoning commission supporting the request.

After comments from P&Z chairman Dennis Christiansen and before the vote, mayor Karl Mooney and councilman Dennis Maloney talked about the current and prior property owners.

Any development of the quarter acre of land will have traffic access to and from Patricia Street.
