WTAW News receives additional information from Bryan ISD about the sale of land and a warehouse building on East Highway 21 between Texas and Tabor.

According to Bryan ISD’s executive director of community affairs Hugo Ibarra, “The Board did not sell the property, nor did it approve a sale to any specific party or for any undisclosed price. The Board simply authorized moving forward with the process required to sell the property. This step is separate from selecting a buyer, negotiating terms, or finalizing any sale. The Board’s action was limited to declaring the property as surplus and authorizing the Superintendent to begin the sale process. All statutory requirements related to advertising, bidding, and public transparency have-and will continue to be-fully followed.”

The vote at Monday’s BISD board meeting (December 1) followed a private discussion for two hours on that and three other items.

The sale involves about two-thirds of one acre with a 5,000 square foot warehouse building.

Original story, November 28 2025:

The Bryan ISD school board as a special meeting Monday night (December 1).

The agenda includes a possible property sale.

The agenda does not disclose the price or the buyer of about two-thirds of one acre with a 5,000 square foot warehouse building at 2009 East Highway 21, which is the south side of the road between Texas Avenue and Tabor Road.

The market value according to the Brazos Central Appraisal District website is $503,000 dollars.

The agenda also includes a second attempt to select board officers for the next 12 months. That was discussed in private during their November 17th meeting but no action was taken according to board president David Stasny because one member was absent.
