The Bryan city council awards one construction contract to improve the intersections of 29th and Broadmoor and 29th and Carter Creek.
The unanimous vote during the council’s December meeting, where there was no council comments, will cost $57,000 dollars more than budgeted.
The council originally approved a $666,000 dollar budget.
One bid was received in September. The council rejected the $966,000 dollar offer and directed staff to write a new set of specifications.
That was followed by receiving three bids. The bid with the lowest price also had the highest score of a review committee.
The $723,000 dollar bid that was approved includes at both intersections new traffic signals, new sidewalks, pavement, and storm drains.
