A Bryan Manufacturer That Is Exceeding Requirements Is Given More Time To Complete An Economic Development Agreement

A Bryan manufacturer which entered an economic development agreement with the Bryan city council in December 2021 is given more time to complete its expansion. The council, without discussion, unanimously approved the extension requested by American Lumber at its April 14th meeting. The amended agreement says American Lumber has already exceeded other requirements of receiving a 50 percent rebate of the tax revenue generated from its manufacturing addition and three new storage buildings. The minimum property value of the project, $8 million dollars, is currently valued at $14.9 million. What was supposed to be 12 additional employees is currently 31. And the average salary that was supposed to be $55,000 dollars is $82,000 per person. College Station Police Arrests One Woman For Assaulting An Officer In The Northgate District And Two Women For Prostitution

Weekend arrests by College Station police in the Northgate district includes a 19 year old College Station woman who struck an officer four times after attempting to help a friend avoid getting a ticket for underage drinking. CSPD arrest reports say it took four officers to get handcuffs on the woman, where she was taken to jail for assaulting the first officer, interfering with public duties, and resisting arrest. Marisol Reyes-Ledet was released after posting bonds totaling $29,000 dollars. A six month investigation by College Station police that began with a citizen’s complaint leads to the arrest of two women on prostitution charges. A CSPD Facebook post says there is evidence of organized criminal activity where money is being sent to China. The arrests of 44 year old Kunxiang Wang and 55 year old Guangfeng Lei follows CSPD searches of three massage parlors and one residence occupied by one of the massage employees. Online jail records say Wang, whose hometown is unknown, and Lei, from Flushing New York, are also being held for immigration authorities. Bonds on the prostitution charges were set at $15,000 dollars each.
