Retirement for a former Brazos County auditor lasted four months.
County commissioners at their last business meeting (January 27) approved the hiring of Katie Conner, who spent 22 years as county auditor.
After the commission’s unanimous vote, Conner’s successor as county auditor, Marci Turner, asked commissioners for additional information about Conner’s new role to work on special projects as needed for the county judge.
Turner said she was speaking on behalf of staff who had concerns about what she described as a vague description of Katie Conner’s new position.
