Brazos County Expo Releases Economic Impact Study

The Brazos County Expo recently released a first-ever economic impact study.

It’s the first of a three year study from A&M AgriLife Extension.  Agriculture economist Dr. Rebekka Dudensing says it’s a pilot that could be applied to clients statewide.

Dudensing says $1.7 seven million dollars and 29 jobs were the result of 21 events, mostly livestock and horse shows. And that did not include the first Brazos Valley Fair.

During the last fiscal year, the expo hosted 140 events that drew 70,000, including the fair.

WTAW’s Bill Oliver visits with Rebekka Dudensing.
