Brazos County Commissioners Agree To Negotiate Sheriff’s Deputies Becoming CSISD School Resource Officers

Brazos County Commissioners have agreed to enter formal negotiations with the College Station school district, which is requesting the sheriff’s office to staff school resource officers at middle and high schools.

Superintendent Clark Ealy says CSISD was planning to pay all county expenses.

County Judge Duane Peters and commissioner Lloyd Wassermann said the contract would be based on the county having no expenses.

The College Station police department is in its final year of providing SRO’s.

Dr. Ealy anticipates an overlap period where both agencies are involved.
