No. 7 Texas A&M looks for their sixth straight win when they host McNeese State in a women’s basketball game at Reed Arena on Wednesday, November 26. The Aggies are coming off a 59-41 win over Prairie View on Monday before welcoming the Cowgirls, who have qualified for four straight postseason tournaments.
The game is broadcast on SEC Network Plus, only on WatchESPN, with Mike Wright and Leanne South bringing viewers the call on their computers, tablets or mobile phones. In addition, Gabe Bock and Sydney Colson have the radio call, available on KZNE 1150 or on the Radio Aggieland app.
A&M has won eight straight matchups against McNeese State, although none were more important than an 87-47 win during the First Round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament in Shreveport. After knocking off the Cowgirls in the First Round, the Aggies would go on to win the NCAA Championship that year.
The Cowgirls are led by Allison Baggett, who is averaging 15.5 points per game this season. Baggett is the sister of former McNeese standouts Ashlyn and Caitlyn; the latter of whom scored 22 points against A&M in that 2011 NCAA First Round game.
The Aggies’ leading scorer entering the game is Courtney Walker, at 18.0 points per game, which ranks sixth in the Southeastern Conference. Jordan Jones is second in the SEC in assists, with 5.6 per game thus far.
After this game, the Aggies host No. 8 Duke in a Top 10 matchup inside Reed Arena on Sunday, November 30 at 12 p.m. Coverage for that game is slated for the SEC Network.
