News release from Texas A&M University Police:
On October 27, 2014, the Texas A&M University Police Department (UPD) was contacted regarding the theft of a 14’ cargo trailer containing construction equipment and supplies from the Rollins Entomology construction site on F&B Road.
The owner of the property, Big Solutions Concrete Construction, was contacted anonymously by an individual, providing a possible location of the stolen items on Lynn Road in Bryan.
Investigators responded to the area and located the cargo trailer at Ehlinger and Mobile Street, approximately one block off Lynn Road. All of the contents were discovered to be missing from the trailer.
Additional information was also received that led investigators to an apartment in the 200 block of Lynn Road. Investigators responded to the location and contacted the resident, Felix Moncibiaz Jr. Investigators explained to Moncibiaz why they were there and requested permission to search the residence.
While speaking with him, the investigators detected a strong odor of gasoline coming from inside the residence. Moncibiaz told investigators the stolen property in question was in the apartment and gave consent for the investigators to enter and remove the property.
Through further investigation, investigators determined another subject, Rolando Garza of Bryan, was allegedly involved. Investigators contacted Garza later in the day and he confessed to his involvement in the theft.
Working in conjunction with the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office, investigators have obtained arrest warrants charging Garza and Moncibiaz with Theft $1,500 – $20,000, a state jail felony, punishable by a prison term of up to two years and/or a $10,000 fine.
Anyone with information regarding this incident or the location of Garza or Moncibiaz are asked to contact the University Police immediately at 979-845-2345.
