Man Arrested for DWI After Police Say He Was Found Passed Out On Campus

A man was arrested after he was found passed out in a flower bed on the Texas A&M campus.

University Police were dispatched to reports of an unconscious person in Parking Lot 30A just after 1 o’clock Friday morning.

Officers found 22-year-old Matthew Suleiman Nimri, of Houston, lying unconscious in a raised dirt bed approximately 20 feet from a running vehicle parked in a handicapped space.

When officers woke Nimri, he was disoriented and his speech was slurred. Officers also reported seeing leaves in his hair and his zipper undone.

He had a stamp on his hand from the 12 Rooftop Bar and Lounge in Northgate.

Nimri declined to provide a voluntary breath or blood specimen, but police obtained a search warrant for a blood sample.

He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and later released on $4,000 bond.
