Navasota Library Reopening Delayed

A man was arrested after he was found passed out in a flower bed on the Texas A&M campus. University Police were dispatched to reports of an unconscious person in Parking Lot 30A just after 1 o’clock Friday morning. Officers found 22-year-old Matthew Suleiman Nimri, of Houston, lying unconscious in a raised dirt bed approximately 20 feet from a running vehicle parked in a handicapped space. When officers woke Nimri, he was disoriented and his speech was slurred. Officers also reported seeing leaves in his hair and his zipper undone. He had a stamp on his hand from the 12 Rooftop Bar and Lounge in Northgate. Nimri declined to provide a voluntary breath or blood specimen, but police obtained a search warrant for a blood sample. He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and later released on $4,000 bond.

College Station is hosting the city’s first-ever Restaurant Week beginning today. Ten percent of Restaurant Week proceeds (excluding alcohol) are donated to the Brazos Valley Food Bank. Restaurant Week offers an opportunity to explore new restaurants, revisit local favorites, and support a good cause that benefits the community. It’s a way to support neighbors across the region while enjoying a great meal. Restaurant Week takes place August 24-30 and eight restaurants are participating in the inaugural event.
