Republicans Bob Yancy and John Raney picked up the most votes Tuesday night, allowing both to advance to a likely December runoff.
The winner of that runoff, the date of which will be decided by Gov. Rick Perry, will finish the unexpired term of Fred Brown in the Texas House of Representatives.
Yancy garnered the most votes, finishing with 4,922, or 36 percent. Raney trailed with 3,758 votes, or 28 percent.
Democrat Judy LeUnes finished with 3,060 votes, or 23 percent. Republican Rebecca Boenigk had 1,505 votes to get 11 percent, and Libertarian Joshua Baker finished with 266 votes and two percent.
