WTAW Radio receives its second national award for small market radio programming.

The Marconi Award from the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) was presented at the organization’s New York Show on Tuesday night (October 21).

The award, named after inventor and Nobel Prize winner Gugliemo Marconi, was established in 1989 to recognize stations and individuals for their excellence and performance in radio.

Parent company Bryan Broadcasting had two other stations as Marconi finalists this year, Peace 107:7 for religious station of the year and LaJefa 102.7 for Spanish station of the year.

Bryan Broadcasting now has seven Marconi Awards. Candy 95 won in 2017, 2018, and 2021, vice president and general manager Ben Downs was named legendary manager in 2021, and former Candy 95 morning show co-hosts Frito & Katy were small market personalities of the year in 2021.
