Wrong Way Driver Kills Two Cadets and Injures a Third

Three 18 year old freshmen members of the A&M Corps of Cadets returning to College Station early Sunday morning were involved in a crash northwest of Houston.

Two are dead and a third is hospitalized from the collision on Highway 290.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says the cadets were in a SUV that was hit by an oncoming Mustang driving in the wrong lanes. The impact caught the SUV on fire.

The crash killed Amy Pacheco and Miguel Hernandez, who were not able to get out. The third cadet, Francisco Campos, was able to escape and is in a Houston hospital.

The 21 year old driver of the Mustang was also killed.
