A&M Women’s Hoops Look for 7th All-time Trip to Sweet 16 Today

Texas A&M looks for their seventh all-time trip to the Sweet 16, as the 4th-seeded Aggies host No. 5 seed Florida State on Monday, March 21 at 5:30 p.m. in an NCAA Second Round game inside Reed Arena.

The game is broadcast by ESPN2, and will be shown in its entirety on cable networks in the state of Texas. Satellite viewers should check their alternate feeds for the game in its entirety, and out-of-state viewers will get whip-around coverage on ESPN2. All NCAA Tournament games are streaming live through WatchESPN and the ESPN app. Olympic Gold Medalist Paul Sunderland and former Stanford All-American Chiney Ogwumike have the call for ESPN.

Additionally, listeners can tune into the game on the Texas A&M Sports Network, with Tom Turbiville and Tap Bentz on the call. It is available in Bryan-College Station on The Zone 1150 AM/102.7 FM.

The Aggies opened the tournament with a 74-65 win over No. 13 seed Missouri State, a game in which A&M led by as many as 19 points in the fourth quarter. Freshman Anriel Howard made NCAA Tournament history in that game, as she had a tournament-record 27 rebounds, shattering the previous mark of 23.Courtney Walker was the Aggies’ leading scorer in the game, scoring 29 points, the second-most by an Aggie in an NCAA Tournament game.

Florida State is making their 15th NCAA Tournament appearance, defeating No. 12 seed Middle Tennessee 72-55 to reach the Second Round. The Seminoles used an 11-4 run late in the third quarter to pull away from the Blue Raiders. Four Florida State players scored in double figures, led by Leticia Romero’s 17.

The winner of this game advances to the Dallas Regional, where they will take on either Baylor or Auburn on Saturday, March 26.
