COLLEGE STATION– COLLEGE STATION- Senior Courtney Walkerbroke A&M’s career scoring record, but No. 4 seed Texas A&M fell 74-56 to No. 5 Florida State in an NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship Second Round game at Reed Arena Monday.
Walker surpassed Takia Starks (2005-09, 1,977 points) with 18 tonight, giving Walker a total of 1,989 for her career. Walker finishes her career as A&M’s career record holder in points, field goals made, and free throw percentage.
The Aggies (22-10) trailed 27-16 after the first quarter and Florida State (25-7) led 47-26 at the break. Texas A&M went on an 11-2 fourth quarter run to cut the deficit to 10 with just 2:06 to play, but Florida State did not let the Aggies get any closer.
Chelsea Jennings added 15 points to Walker’s 18, while Anriel Howard, who averaged 20.0 rebounds in the NCAA Tournament, added 13 boards.
A&M’s outgoing senior class finishes their careers with a 97-39 record and a 56-12 record at home.

• Anriel Howard, who set the NCAA Tournament Single-Game Rebound record with 27 in the First Round, had her fifth career double-digit rebound game with 13.
