A Bryan woman is in jail accused of stealing $3,000 dollars from a former employer. According to the arrest report from College Station police, 22 year old Marissa Garcia made 11 transfers over a 21 day period last December and January. The business owner’s bank notified CSPD of the illegal withdrawals, which ranged from $20 to $500 dollars. Garcia told a detective her 82 year old employer made the transfers to her account…something that the victim denied. Garcia is out of jail after posting a $20,000 dollar bond.

A Giddings man is in jail after trying to evade a Brazos County sheriff’s deputy following a hit and run crash while driving drunk. According to the deputy’s arrest report, he saw around 1:30 in the morning Thursday a small white car rapidly approach another motorist at the intersection of Harvey Mitchell Parkway and Holleman. After the deputy saw what appeared to be a collision, he saw the car leave the scene. The deputy clocked the speed at 91 miles per hour before the car stopped four miles north of the crash in Bryan off Harvey Mitchell near Villa Maria. The driver, who refused to get out, was pulled out of his car onto the ground and placed in hand restraints. After failing field sobriety tests, 32 year old Byron Cook was taken to jail on charges of DWI with one prior conviction, resisting arrest, and assaulting the deputy by scratching his arm. Cook is held on bonds totaling $16,000 dollars.
