The latest example of being observant and reporting a crime pays off. Wednesday night at a College Station coffeehouse, a woman who left her seat for a brief period had her laptop computer stolen. A witness told the victim he saw who picked it up.
Rhonda Seaton with College Station Police says when they were notified, officers started towards the business and the area. Officers stopped the man at Munson and Lincoln, about one and a half miles away from the theft.
The witness was taken to the scene and he made a positive identification. The laptop was found about 100 yards from the stop. Police found the computer was still on the victim’s Facebook page.
The bicyclist, 31 year old Rickie Milazzo of Bryan, was arrested for theft with two prior convictions. Officers also arrested Milazzo for possessing burglary tools and a pipe used to smoke crack cocaine. Also in his possession were items taken in a Bryan vehicle burglary earlier in the day.
