Wichita Falls Shooter Had Violent Past

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (AP) _ A man whose shooting rampage at a Wichita Falls bar left one dead and four wounded reportedly had a history of violence.

Police say the rampage came to an end early Wednesday when Ross William Muehlberger shot himself in the head. He died early Wednesday at a Wichita Falls hospital.

The Wichita Falls Times Record News reports court records show Muehlberger, 22, was facing aggravated assault charges in the Oct. 19 stabbing of two men at a Lake Wichita park. He also was charged with aggravated assault on Dec. 31 for allegedly hitting and threatening to kill a girlfriend. He also had been sentenced to probation in 2008 after pleading guilty to aggravated robbery.
