What’s The Future Of Bryan ISD’s Milam Elementary School?

The future of the Bryan school district’s Milam elementary school campus, which ended classes in the spring of 2017, was discussed over the summer by the district’s bond steering committee.

BISD communications director Matt LeBlanc says options considered by the committee included selling the former administration building, which is now the home of special education programs, and moving that to Milam.

LeBlanc says this idea is not part of the bond steering committee’s recommendations for a $175 million dollar bond issue next May.

LeBlanc says the next step involving Milam would be administrators making a recommendation to the school board. If the board approves, LeBlanc says the expenses would be paid from the district’s fund balance.
