The subject of a large manhunt Monday afternoon east of the freeway in the woods between University and Briarcrest is back in the Brazos County jail for the fifth time since April.

32 year old Jimmie McCullough of Andrews…which is north of Odessa…is accused of running away twice from a precinct two deputy constable who found a car that was reported stolen earlier in the day.

McCullough, who was barefooted and not wearing a shirt when he ran into the woods, was found a few minutes later by a DPS trooper and was arrested for evading arrest.

Bryan police report the car was stolen from the H-E-B on Villa Maria while the engine was running and no one was inside. Then a bystander followed the stolen car and called 9-1-1 to report their location.

The car, which BPD reported sustained $1,700 dollars of damage, was returned to the owner.

According to online records, McCullough is awaiting trial in Brazos County on charges from four previous arrests this year…two for driving with an invalid license, one for possessing a sawed off shotgun, and for misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
