The owner of a vacant home in west Bryan caught two men Monday during the noon hour taking items from the house and a backyard shed.
According to the arrest report from Bryan police, the men drove away after being confronted by the homeowner.
But a deputy constable stopped the suspect’s car a short time later.
The backseat was full of items the homeowner said belonged to him, including two air conditioners and various tools, copper wiring, and fiesta dishes.
The driver of the car told police a man who he knew only by his first name gave him permission to clean out the house.
The men who were arrested for burglary of a building were 49 year old John May and 34 year old Carl McGuire of Bryan.
May is also being held on a parole violation. According to online court records, May was convicted in January 2016 and sentenced to five years for possessing methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
