Weekend DWI Arrests Follow A SUV Hitting A C-Store And A Car Landing In A Ditch

The driver of a SUV that struck a College Station convenience store Saturday during the noon hour is charged with having a breath alcohol level of more than three and a half times the legal limit. 28 year old Heidi Ebert of College Station was released from jail Monday after posting a $4,000 dollar bond. According to the arrest report, it took three tries to get the breath test machine to work. The driver, who agreed each time to be tested, is accused of alcohol levels of .282 and .297. She agreed with the arresting officer that she mistook the accelerator for the brake in the parking lot of D&D express mart on Graham near Victoria. According to the store’s video, the SUV struck a barrier near a gas pump, then hit the northeast corner of the building.

A Caldwell man with three prior DWI convictions in Alaska was arrested for DWI Saturday afternoon in west Bryan. According to the Bryan police arrest report, officers found a car in the ditch off Highway 21 near the RELLIS campus. That followed multiple callers to 9-1-1 reporting the car was swerving all over the road and had a front right flat tire. 51 year old Lonny Deakle remained in jail Tuesday in lieu of a $12,000 dollar bond.
