Weekend Calls For Bryan Firefighters Include An Apartment Building & Rudder High Portable Building

Bryan firefighters responded Saturday night to an apartment fire that displaced residents in ten units, then Sunday morning to Rudder High School to what Bryan ISD officials say was a minor fire in a portable building.

Fire investigators returned Sunday to the Shamrock Village apartments on Wayside Drive, off Texas behind Enterprise car rental and Fat Burger. The fire was in the southernmost of three buildings. The other buildings were not affected. Apartment management said there were no injuries.

At Rudder High, Bryan ISD spokesman Brandon Webb says a coach discovered smoke in a portable classroom building. Webb says the fire came from an air conditioner attached to a wall. Webb says classes will be moved elsewhere until repairs are made to the wall and the air conditioning is replaced.
