An employee of the College Station Wal-Mart remains jailed after his arrest at the store Saturday night on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Witnesses told police there was an altercation between the employee, 47 year old Larry Martin, and the father of his grandchild. According to the arrest report, store video showed Martin shoving the other man, causing him to fall into a display stand. After the two traded punches, Martin is accused of pulling out a knife with a three inch blade. The victim pushed a nearby shopping cart between them then runs away. Neither man had any injuries that required medical attention. Jail records indicate the day before the altercation at Wal-Mart, the victim…26 year old Patrick Gilbert of College Station…was arrested. College Station police say the arrest warrant accuses Gilbert of family assault, specifically injuring Martin’s daughter on April 23rd.
