Von Miller Named to 2026 Texas Sports Hall of Fame Class

News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

Texas A&M football legend Von Miller was announced as a member of the 2026 induction class of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame (TSHOF), the Board of Trustees of the TSHOF announced on Thursday.

Miller, who was immortalized in the Texas A&M Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017, was joined by Clint Dempsey (soccer), Chad Hedrick (speed skating), Charmayne James (rodeo), Steve McMichael (football), Gary Patterson (football coach), Louis Santop (baseball) and the 1966 Texas Western men’s basketball team.

The DeSoto, Texas, native was a two-time first-team All-American for the Aggies and received the 2010 Dick Butkus Award, which is given annually to the nation’s top linebacker. In 2009, Miller led the nation with 17.0 sacks, which ranks as the second-highest total in school history. A four-year letterwinner from 2007-10, he finished his career in the Maroon & White with 33 sacks, which still ranks fifth-most in school annals.

He was drafted No. 2 overall by the Denver Broncos in the 2011 NFL Draft, which was the highest draft selection by an Aggie at the time. Now with his fourth NFL team, Miller remains one of the league’s most feared pass rushers in his 15th professional season. He was the Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2011, and he has earned All-Pro three times and eight Pro Bowl invitations. He is a two-time Super Bowl Champion with the Broncos in 2015 and the Los Angeles Rams in 2021. Miller’s 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles against the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 resulted in Most Valuable Player honors.

The 65th Annual Texas Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet presented by Texas Farm Bureau Insurance, will be held in the BASE at Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas, on Saturday, April 18, 2026.
