VFW Post 4692 in Bryan is hosting an all Brazos County veteran’s organizations Veteran’s Day program Sunday morning at 11. The post is located at 794 North Harvey Mitchell Parkway. The keynote speaker is Congressman Bill Flores. Scheduled to be in attendance are representatives of the VFW, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Vietnam Veterans of America, Elks Lodge, Soujerners, Brazos Valley Memorial, and the TAMU Association.
The Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial Board of Directors will be hosting the annual Veterans Day program at 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at the Veterans Park and Athletic Complex in College Station, Texas. The event, held at the Louis L. Adam Memorial Plaza, is a reverent and patriotic opportunity for members of our community to honor all of our veterans and the sacrifices they have made for our freedom. There will be a formal reading of the veterans’ names being added to the Wall of Honor by Bill Youngkin. Family members and friends may answer “Here”. This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Eddie J. Davis, president of the Texas A&M Foundation. Members of the A&M Corps of Cadets, Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band, and Corps Center Guard will participate in the ceremony at the Wall of Honor at Veterans Park.

Contingents from the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets will launch the university’s Veteran’s Day observance on campus Sunday morning (Nov. 11) and then join in an afternoon community observance. The campus observance continues Monday when the Veteran Resource & Support Center and the Veteran Services Office will jointly host several events planned to honor veterans.
Corps of Cadet activities Sunday begin at 11:11 a.m. with a bugler playing taps and a seven-member Ross Volunteer contingent presenting a rifle salute at the World War II memorial at the northwest corner of Simpson Drill Field. The cadets will then move to the WWII memorial at the plaza at the north end of the Corps dormitory area for a wreath-laying ceremony, followed by a subsequent wreath laying at the Spanish-American War memorials south of the Sanders Corps of Cadets Center.
A 150-member contingent of the Aggie Band will play at the College Station observance at Veterans Park at 4 p.m.
A National Roll Call in remembrance of those who lost their lives in Operation Enduring Freedom will be conducted Monday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in Rudder Plaza. Brief remarks will be presented at 12:45 p.m. followed by a moment of silence at 1 p.m.
The Dwight Look College of Engineering will host a luncheon Monday in the Memorial Student Center for engineering students who are veterans as an additional means of thanking them for their service to the nation.
