Two TxDOT-Bryan district projects could be coming to an end next week, weather permitting.
On Briarcrest in front of Sul Ross school in Bryan, concrete traffic barriers were installed over the weekend. That’s part of striping changes to finish the project that began to repair a broken sewer line.
Also by the end of next week, weather permitting, the new freeway southbound exit ramp to Briarcrest will open.
And there is a new traffic pattern in the construction zone of the new interchange by Easterwood Airport. The TxDOT district office reported reopening some ramps on both FM 60 and 2818, while other ramps remain closed. Weather permitting, the major work on the new diverging diamond interchange will be completed before Texas A&M starts classes in August. The new divergent diamond interchange, the third to be built in Texas, will have traffic on FM 60 swerving to the left then to the right on the bridge over FM 2818. Overall completion of the $14 million dollar project is expected next spring.
