The updated map will be considered for final action Monday night by the Bryan school board.

The new map came during a meeting Thursday night with members of a community committee met Thursday night to receive an update from administrators.

Committee spokesman James Edge says when administrators re-examined where students live, they concluded not enough had been moved from Bryan High to Rudder.

The committee considered three options that would place both schools in 4-A districts for UIL purposes.

Edge says the committee voted 20-3 to forward the map that will be considered by the Bryan ISD Board of Trustees. Edge says the three that voted for another map also supported the majority recommendation.

The most substantial change moves to Rudder, students living in the Steep Hollow area south and west of the intersection of FM 1179 and FM 2038.

Monday night’s special meeting of the BISD trustees starts at 6 p.m.

WTAW’s Bill Oliver visits with James Edge.
