UPDATE: Three Traffic Snags In College Station

UPDATE:

Many College Station motorists have up to three snags.

The latest was announced Monday afternoon. The intersection of Greens Prairie Road and Arrington Road has a four-way stop while improvements are under construction. The adjacent section of Arrington is temporarily down to one lane.

Another obstacle that started Monday and continuing through mid-October. Holleman South will be closed between North Dowling and General Parkway in order to widen the street to four lanes plus a center turning lane. The overall project, which will add sidewalks and a couple of traffic signals, is expected to be completed next spring.

A third issue affects those going in and out of Veterans Park. The only access until this fall is Harvey Road, due to construction of new ballfields and other recreation amenities that will close the park entrance and exit off University.

News releases from the city of College Station:

Sections of Holleman Drive South will be closed to thru traffic from Monday, July 9 through mid-October as part of the Holleman Drive South Widening Project. The initial closure is between General Parkway and North Dowling Road. Motorists should detour to Rock Prairie Road West, Wellborn Road, FM2818 or use other routes. The project will widen Holleman to four lanes of concrete pavement with a median/center turn lane, sidewalk and multi-use path, utility infrastructure, and two traffic signals. Work is expected to complete in the spring.

The University Drive entrance to Veterans Park & Athletic Complex will be closed starting Monday as work continues on the Veterans Park Buildout Project. The entrance is scheduled to reopen in the fall. Park access remains available through the Harvey Road entrance.
