Update On Three College Station Public Works Projects

Construction of three public works projects in College Station are another step closer to starting.

Assistant public works director Emily Fisher briefed the city council earlier this month before approving a more than $800,000 dollar design contract to replace water and wastewater lines in the Southgate area’s McCulloch neighborhood. The more than $6 million dollar project was also discussed by councilman Dennis Maloney and mayor Karl Mooney.

Fisher also briefed the council before approving an agreement with the Wellborn utility district to move lines as part of the $4 million dollar widening of Greens Prairie Trail between Royder Road and the city limits.

Fisher also provided details of a preliminary engineering report that the council approved, for what will be more than $3.5 million rebuilding of Greens Prairie Road between Victoria and Wellborn Road, where the asphalt surface will be replaced with concrete.
