Update on College Station Street Projects

Motorists in College Station are reminded that Munson Avenue between Dominik Drive and Woodland Parkway is closed Wednesday from 8 until 5 for the inspection of wastewater lines. The inspection is ahead of the reconstruction of Munson from Dominik to Lincoln.

Two more street projects in the Eastgate neighborhood, which is south of University and east of Texas, were recently approved by the College Station city council.

One is extending Eisenhower Street from Ash to Lincoln…behind Best Buy and Barnes and Noble. Public Works Director Donald Harmon says the project also includes improving how pedestrians navigate the intersection of Eisenhower and Ash by the College Station Chinese Church. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of March next year.

Also approved was rebuilding Francis Drive from Glenhaven to Munson. Construction won’t start until Munson is rebuilt, which will be sometime next year.

And the council approved a ban on right turns on red affecting southbound traffic on Texas turning west on University. Police is enforcing the new restriction.
