UPDATE: Law Enforcement Pursuit From College Station to Suburban Houston

Update:

Three Houston men were arrested on multiple charges following reports of burglaries in College Station, followed by a four county chase that ended in suburban Houston.

25 year old Enrique Bonilla Bravo, 26 year old Daveon Remond Whitfield, and 26 year old Marlin Laurell Cole are all charged with breaking into a home on Williams Creek Drive. Police recovered three handguns and jewelry. The trio was also arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm as convicted felons. Bravo was also arrested for evading arrest.

The arrests followed a pursuit that began in the Woodcreek subdivision, near Rock Prairie and the freeway. The chase went south on Highway 6, and at the Brazos-Grimes County line the pursuit was taken over by Grimes County sheriff’s deputies and DPS troopers. The suspects stopped in Jersey Village and ran a short distance before they were caught.

Lt. Steve Brock says a homeowner who told one of suspects who knocked on the door the person they were looking for did not live there. Brock says the homeowner wrote down the license plate of the suspect’s vehicle and called police.

From College Station police:

On August 25, 2016 during the lunch hour College Station Police Department officers responded to the Wood Creek Subdivision for a suspicious person call.

The reporting person told the police department that an unknown black male knocked on his door and asked for a person that did not live there.

The resident told the black male that he had the wrong residence, at which time he got into a vehicle and drove away.

The resident thought this was suspicious and called the police to relay this information with the license plate of the vehicle that drove away.

Officers responded to the area and discovered the vehicle driving through the neighborhood.

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, but it sped away in an attempt to elude police.

College Station officers pursued the vehicle south on HWY 6 until they were relieved by Department of Public Safety and Grimes County Sheriff’s Department.

A lengthy pursuit continued through several small towns until the vehicle finally stopped near Jersey Village. Occupants of the suspect vehicle fled on foot and were captured by law enforcement. At this time there are three individuals detained.

Officers are still in the process of the identifying the detained individuals. It is possible this group of men are linked to previous home burglaries in College Station and Brazos County. The College Station Police Department will be responsible for the follow up investigation into this incident.

It is early into the investigation and detectives are attempting to uncover specific details. As information is gathered additional updates will be sent to the public.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the College Station Police Department at 979-764-3600.
