Original story:

Eight Union Pacific train cars left the track Monday south of Navasota near the Highway 6 rail overpass, shutting down the highway.

Grimes County officials said the accident occurred at 6:13 a.m. Seven cars and one tanker containing diethanolamine were involved.

The tanker containing the chemical is leaking but contained, and is considered low-risk at this time, they said in a social media update.

KWBC News Director Tom Turner in Navasota said his sources told him there is possible damage to the overpass.

Traffic on Highway 6 is being diverted to alternate routes. Texas Department of Transportation spokesman Bob Colwell said the preferred detour is Spur 515 to Business SH 6.

No injuries were reported.
