Monday update:

Bryan’s second murder in as many weeks was the result of an argument over drugs.

39 year old Latoya Jenkins is accused of stabbing her boyfriend, 40 year old Steven Shivers in the neck with a large kitchen knife.

Officer Kelley McKethan says there were two witnesses. One was at Jenkins’ apartment administering first aid to the victim.

McKethan says the second witness left before officers arrived and has not been found.

Jenkins was located about two hours after the stabbing according to the arrest report west of Easterwood Airport at her mother’s home in the Brushy community.

McKethan says neither witness was involved in the domestic disturbance or the stabbing.

Jenkins remained in the Brazos County Jail Monday night in lieu of $100,000 bond.
