The discovery of a dead man’s body in his College Station mobile home is now being investigated as a homicide.
College Station police has not disclosed any evidence of how 30 year old Osiel Benitez-Herrera died.
Officers responded Tuesday night to a 9-1-1 concern call from Herrera’s roommate.
Officers entered a mobile home off Texas Avenue near Mile Drive north of Deacon based on the belief that immediate aid or action was required. That’s when Herrera was found.

College Station police has announced its criminal investigation division is looking into a man’s death.
This is after officers responded Tuesday just before midnight to a 9-1-1 call from a roommate.
According to a CSPD news release, officers entered a mobile home off Texas Avenue near Mile Drive north of Deacon “based on exigent circumstances” and found the deceased man.
The man’s identity has not been released because officers are still looking for family members to notify them about the death.
According to merriam-webster.com, the definition of exigent is “requiring immediate aid or action”.
