Monday afternoon update:
College Station police has arrested a Brenham man for Sunday night’s armed robbery of the Valero convenience store at Rock Prairie and the freeway where a store clerk was shot and killed.
29 year old Rufus Lockett is held in the Brazos County jail on a bond of $250,000 dollars.
According to the arrest report, store video shows a man in a red and yellow baseball cap entering the store, demands money, and shoots 54 year old Anita Jean Randle.
According to CSPD’s social media, Randle was shot more than once after telling the gunman she was unable to give him any money.
A getaway car seen in the store video was found by Bryan police.
The arrest report had no information about where the car was found the circumstances to taking Lockett into custody.
Brenham police confirmed the man seen in the store video was Lockett.

A College Station convenience store clerk is dead after being shot during an armed robbery Sunday night.
This took place at the Valero store at Rock Prairie and the freeway shortly before 8:30 p.m.
According to a CSPD’s Twitter account, the unidentified clerk was shot by a man more than once after the clerk told him she was unable to give him any money.
The victim was identified as 54 year-old Anita Jean Randle of College Station.
Neither CSPD’s social media or the department’s news release included a description of the suspect.

From College Station police:
On December 16, 2018 at approximately 2023 hours, Officers with the College Station Police Department responded to a report of a robbery that took place at the Valero Station located at 2160 Rock Prairie Road.
Upon arrival, officers were advised that a male had entered the business and began to demand money from the clerk.
After the clerk advised that she was unable to provide any money to the suspect, the male suspect then shot the clerk.
The suspect then exited the business and left the area in a passenger sedan. The clerk was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Detectives and Crime Scene personnel with the College Station Police Department are continuing their investigation.
Identification of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of kin.
