Brazos County Commission Approve Accepting Proposals From Potential Architects And Construction Companies For Their New Downtown Bryan Office Building
Brazos County commissioners issue two votes moving ahead with a $61 million dollar office building, parking garage, and skyway at the site of the former Bryan ISD administration building. Steve Aldrich voted against seeking an architect after county judge Duane Peters refused to discuss buying land for parking across Houston Street from the site. That was followed by a unanimous vote to accept proposals from construction companies that want to build the three story building, a skywalk over Texas Avenue to connect to the courthouse, and the parking garage. Preceding the votes, the county’s project manager Trevor Lansdown summarized prior action. The new office building would become home to the precinct four justice of the peace and constable offices, adult probation, and the public defender’s office.
