Book a flight on United in or out of Easterwood Airport starting in mid-August, and you’ll notice some changes.
United’s website shows Express Jet serving Easterwood instead of Colgan Air; and instead of turboprops you’ll be in a jet.
Airport manager John Happ says he’s still awaiting confirmation from United.
United has been looking for a regional carrier to replace Colgan Air, whose parent company has filed for bankruptcy.
Happ says the important thing is to continue booking flights in and out of the local airport as a way of showing United and American the local interest, which could lead to expanded service.
